> Why will this shot work/not work for visual/special effects? It will work as the corner where the Dalek comes round is perfectly flat which makes it easier to make the Dalek look like it's coming round it as you can just crop out the part of the shot which you don't need until you are happy. > How will this shot help the narrative? It will help the narrative as it opens the sequence and allows for suspense as you see the Doctor getting chased by a Dalek. > How do you intend to cut away from this shot to the next one? I intend for the shot to cut to another being quick and snappy with no transition as I want the viewer not to lose interest and keep their focus which they may lose if I have a long fancy transition effect which would be unnecessary at this point in the sequence. > How effective do you think this shot will be in the final piece? I think it will be very effective as the shot of this and the Dalek is very good and the Dalek should fit in with relative ease and look fairly realistic.
> Why will this shot work/not work for visual/special effects? This shot will work as there is plenty of room for a Dalek blast visual effect to come past and narrowly miss the Doctor as he ducks. There will also be room for the small sparks that will appear as the blast hits the wall. > How will this shot help the narrative? This helps the narrative as it provides suspense as the Doctor is nearly killed by a Dalek. > How do you intend to cut away from this shot to the next one? The shot will cut away simply with no transition effect as I don't want to strain the attention of the viewer in favour of unnecessary transition effects. > How effective do you think this shot will be in the final piece? I think it will be very effective as if the laser effect is done right, it will look like the Doctor has narrowly avoided his death at the hands of a Dalek.
> Why will this shot work/not work for visual/special effects? It will work as I can use the shatter transition effect on it as I have footage of the same shot but the doors are open so I can make it look like the door has been destroyed. If the shatter effects doesn't work, I can always use an explosion effect to have the same effect and hide the shots cutting to each other. > How will this shot help the narrative? It will help as it effectively ends the sequence and also provides more suspense as you don't know what will happen next. > How do you intend to cut away from this shot to the next one? I plan to use the shatter effect on Adobe After Effects to make the transition between this shot and next shot which is the same but the doors are not in it to make it look like the doors have been destroyed by the Dalek. If the shatter effect doesn't work for whatever reason, I can also use an explosion effect which will hide the cut between the shots. > How effective do you think this shot will be in the final piece? I think it could look really effective as it will almost end the sequence with the Dalek moving towards the camera through the doors it has just destroyed.
> Why will this shot work/not work for visual/special effects? I think this will work as it shows the Doctor running past the camera and the Dalek closely behind him. It will work as the shot of the Dalek will fit into place and the Dalek doesn't look too big and fits into the shot perfectly. > How will this shot help the narrative? It helps the narrative as it shows a continuing chase between the Dalek and the Doctor. > How do you intend to cut away from this shot to the next one? There won't be any transition effect between this shot and the next one. It will just cut from this shot to the shot of the camera moving towards the closed doors. > How effective do you think this shot will be in the final piece? I think it will be very effective as you see shots like this proper tv shows and I think that this will look really good in the final piece.
